Sub:       Workshop on “Ethics &Value in Public Governance” (EVIPG-05) May 21 to 23, 2014. (Wednesday to   Friday) (3 Days)

 

Sir/Madam

 

A Workshop on “Ethics & Value in Public Governance (WoEVIPG-05)” is scheduled in this Institute from May 21st (Wednesday) to 23rd (Friday) (3 days). The Workshop will be useful to the participants in developing professional ethics. The details of the programme, namely, the objectives, course contents, level of participants, venue etc. are given in Annexure-I. Nomination(s) in the prescribed Performa   may kindly be sent to the undersigned so as to reach latest by 17th April, 2014. The Nomination forms are to be downloaded from ISTM web-site www.istm.gov.in. The Nomination may also be sent by fax and/or by e-mail to samar.nath@nic.in .     

2.         Only such officers should be nominated who will attend the Workshop on whole time basis. While nominating the level of participants as indicated in Annexure-I may kindly be borne in mind. The Workshop will involve own time/group work too. Therefore, nomination of only those officers who can attend the Workshop from 09:00 hours till 05:30 hours and beyond for on-time/group work, may be sponsored.    

3.         The officer(s) concerned should be relieved for attending the programme only after receipt of specific confirmation regarding acceptance of the nomination.

4.     The nomination acceptance letter will be uploaded on our website apart from sending a copy each to the sponsoring authority and the officer concerned.

Annexure- I

Programme Title       :           EVIPG-05

Venue                         :           ISTM Campus, JNU (Old) Campus,                                             

                                                New   Mehrauli Road, New Delhi-110067.

Course Director         :           K S Samarendra Nath

OBJECTIVES: At the end of the Workshop, the participants will be able to:

          a)     State the importance and benefits of Ethics & Values in effective governance.

          b)     Describe the integrated framework of ethical governance and its implications on one’s role;

          c)     Apply the framework of ethical governance in all spheres.

          d)     Explain the concept of inner governance and initiation to practice inner governance of life.

          e)     Share one’s experience as to how to resolve ethical dilemmas.

METHODOLOGY:

            The Workshop will be conducted through participative methods including, experience sharing, discussions etc.

COURSE CONTENTS:

Concept of framework of ethical governance; concept of inner governance, importance of values for good governance, non-violent communication, self-Introspection for Inculcating values, power of one, environment and you, etc.

COURES CAPACITY: 25-30

LEVEL OF PARTICIPANTS

The programme is designed for Group A&B Gazetted Officers in Ministries/ Departments in the Central and the State and middle managements in PSUs/ Central Autonomous Bodies. 

HOSTEL FACILITIES

            The Workshop is a non-residential programme. However, hostel facilities are available for outstation participants on nominal payment and on first come first served basis. In case a candidate needs hostel accommodation, he/she may indicate this in the Nomination form. Outstation participants for hostel accommodation are advised to contact Hostel Warden (Tel No. 26165593) or Caretaker (Tel No. 26172571) for hostel accommodation.
