This Institute will be conducting two day “Workshop on Analysis of Financial statements’  (WoAFS-5)  from  12-13 October, 2015.   

 

2.         Details about the Workshop, eligibility criteria etc. are available in the Course Information Sheet at Annexure-I. Nominations in the prescribed proforma may be submitted online by the nominees which is available on our website: www.istm.gov.in under the link ‘Online Form’ well before the closing date, i.e. 4th September, 2015. Besides, the print out of the online nomination form duly sponsored by the sponsoring authority may also be sent by post/by hand in favour of the  undersigned. 

 

3.         The Sponsoring authorities and the nominees are advised to await ISTM’s letter accepting the nomination for this workshop before relieving / getting relieved to attend the workshop. The Acceptance Letter will be uploaded or our web-site www.istm.nic.in and www.istm.gov.in by 11.9.2015.

 

4.         ISTM has a modest hostel facility where AC  rooms are available on twin sharing basis,   Participants are advised to contact Hostel Warden (Tel No. 26177058) for hostel accommodation.

ELIGIBILITY:

·         Any officer of the CSS  of the  level of Section Officer, Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary / Director  posted in Ministry / Department or Attached office; or officers of equivalent level from other services in the central autonomous bodies and the CPSEs.

WORKSHOP CONTENTS:

1)      Meaning of financial statements

2)      Contents of Annual reports of CPSEs and Autonomous Bodies

3)      Contents of Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss / Income and Expenditure statement and Cash Flow statement

4)      Meaning of terms like Share Capital, Reserves  and Surplus, Current liabilities, Fixed Assets, Current Assets, Working Capital, Depreciation, EBITD, PBT, PAT, etc.

5)      Terms used in MoU like Gross Margin, Net worth Gross Block, etc.

6)      Ratio analysis like liquidity ratio (short term solvency), Solvency ratios (long-term solvency) etc.

7)      Limitations of analysis of financial statements
